Even with such a limited storyline, the possibilities are endless, and that is what is so fascinating, but in order to to stick to our self imposed deadline of 2 weeks with a finished animation I suggest we go back to Jelle's original storyboard and look at the basic workings of the gag, and build it up from the ground up:
1-HAIRY ALIEN (must be hairy, at least for the first series of gags)
2-BY AN ALIEN SPACESHIP IS SUCKED UP, 0 GRAVITY LEVITATED, BEAMED UP, CAUGHT WITH A LASSO, PULLED UP, GRABBED, SNATCHED, KIDNAPPED, WHATEVER YOU CAN THINK OF!
3- THE HAIRY ALIEN IS RETURNED TO THE GROUND TRANSFORMED INTO:
a hairy french intellectual (sorry Georges)
a super hot sexy alien
or a very scary super smooth inflated sex alien doll
or an inflated fat shiny alien something...
And the list can continue to what we find funniest to characterise....So maybe is an idea that we can all make 1 hairy alien ch, and its counterpart, that is what it turns into, then I/we can animate the funky stuff in between, the way is abducted by the spaceship, and its transformation. Let me know what you think.

That's a great idea Cesare.
Do you mean that we need a sort of system to work more efficient?
Something like:
charachter design/concept art> storyboard> layout/keys/final designs> animation/inbetweens
Maybe it's an idea to give all these stages deadlines, just to keep progress. And if we finished a stage not change it afterwards.
Hey Mitch, you're right, maybe we should look for a system that makes
the creation process more efficient.
Sorry if I sound teacherly but this is how I would start:
What is the gag?
1-A hairy alien is abducted by a mean spaceship
What is funny about this gag?
2-The hairy alien is transformed (by the mean spaceship) into something else
Laugh factor?
3-its funny looks after the abduction
then we can go crazy funny with all kinds of design elements, see my post, knowing that we have a basic structure in place. The way the alien is abducted, its looks, the way it walks, etc, these are all extra fun elements that can be added to the basic formula.
After that comes, as you say, the working out of the gag, ch design etc...and yes, deadlines, as much as i hate them, are a good way to make things happen...:-)
ps: i see the hairy alien transformed into your alien with the Elvis hairdo, ah ah....
Ok, so the basic structure is clear now? Right?
So now we need to think about the alien, space ship and background. Right?
Do we now need to make allot of concept art to set up the mood?
I experimented a bit while watching the soccer game.
Last aliens I did, wern't really aliens (more monsters). See Fons comment on my doodle post.
I tried to make them more alien and keep them simple. I couldn't resist and tried something in illu as well. But I think they need to be more hairy, less feather like. I really liked that in Cesare his alien. Tell me what you think, can use some feedback.

Hey Mitch, so good to see your sketches developing, I think the 'before' abduction aliens at the bottom are good, nice chicken feet!, maybe it would be nice to push the 'after' abduction alien, its hair and appearance altered drastically. This is just an idea, ignore it if you don't like it, but maybe the spaceship is some sort of 'Hair fashion Alien Police' and is running around doing extreme makeovers to the poor aliens below...:-)
I tried to take the design back to basics. The basic shape from Jelle's storyboard and how cesare did the hair.

Maybe Im posting a bit to much, if so. Just say it. I try to learn about designing a characther, so this is a nice chance for me to try.
I really like the idea of a hair fashion police. I couldn't come up with a good one... Do you have some ideas Cesare?
Hello guys, cool stuff is going on here. It looks you already have the stuff for an nice little animation. The gag is cool and enough sketches for the character.
Maybe you could base the ufo on a hairdryer (the big one that your grandma is using)
for next animation I would throw in some conflict.
Let's see an animatic, timed like it's animation, 30 seconds, yeah!
